On Wednesday I’ll have 2 years of sobriety. Why is it I’m craving booze, having anxiety, acting out in some old behaviors and overall just uncomfortable. I feel like I know the answer I would tell someone who shared that same scenario with me, but taking my own advice is just not cutting it…lol … but honestly I look so much more content than I did on that last awful day of drinking. One day at a time I got this!

Congrats!! Hang in there! I’m a few weeks from 2 years myself and I’m having similar feelings. I’ve had some terrible relapse dreams, I’m irritable, and I’ve definitely had more thoughts of drinking than usual. I try to stay grounded by praying, reaching out to someone and finding a healthy distraction.

Some said to me once things get so good it easy to forget how bad they were. One day at a time, sometimes one minute at a time.

It’s something having to do with our brain-body connection to the time of year that we quit drinking.

Congratulations on your milestone! I just celebrated 2 years free of all substances on Nov. 12th. I’ve been going through some of the same issues as well. Just keep talking about it and staying connected to others in recovery. That’s how I get through each day. One at a time.

A craving is a feeling, and all feelings pass. You look happy, btw. Hint, hint.

Maybe it’s just to remind you. I mean, think about it. Would you go back? I wouldn’t. But I’ve also got 2 years in. It hit me at Thanksgiving - not when I was with people drinking, but when I was alone. Then I took it to God and it stuck me that I would not change my choice. And it is a choice now more than ever. Congrats on 2 years :)))
