I haven’t written here in a while.
Life has been beautifully full.
I’m still sober. Still healing. Still choosing the life I once thought was impossible.
People often say addiction is a disease, and I believe that. But recovery asks something of us too. It asks us to choose, over and over again.
To choose honesty over hiding.
To choose growth over comfort.
To choose accountability over excuses.
To choose hope when our minds try to convince us there isn’t any.
Some days those choices feel easy.
Some days they feel impossibly heavy.
But every morning we wake up with another opportunity to become someone our past never thought we’d be.
Recovery isn’t about becoming perfect.
It’s about becoming free.
One decision. One conversation. One boundary. One act of courage. One day at a time.
Sobriety didn’t just give me my life back.
It gave me the chance to meet the person I was always meant to become.
If you’re struggling today, don’t focus on forever.
Just choose today.
Because sometimes freedom isn’t found all at once.
Sometimes it’s built, one courageous choice at a time.
