This is not characteristic of my use prior to 6days ago. I’d use through the day every day and that is not how i can be anymore. I’m going to a meeting tonight. I’ve been going since April once a week. I still have not spoken or told my story. I feel a little more comfortable at the meeting that I’m attending tonight so I may share some of that tonight. My recovery coach attends this meeting and am looking forward to catching up with her.

Please don’t beat yourself up. I am in recovery but because of chronic pain my doctor gave me a medical pot card. I use gummies at night for the pain. It’s better than doing opiates. I too hard a hard time even admitting this but it was either suffer badly or take Vicodin so I decided on the lesser of two evils. I just had spine surgery last Tuesday and now they have me on Oxys again totally paranoid but need them because surgery was very evasive. I take as prescribed and I stopped beating myself up. Now if they told me I had to drink. No no no that would be different because I loved my alcohol. Please go to meeting reach out to sober friends. You got this.

You do you and decide where your problems are. I quit drinking/drugs almost 4 years ago and still use thc for sleep some nights. I consider myself sober. I spoke with my doctor and because I’m at high risk for abusing sleep aids he thought it the best option also. I go to meetings and know several other ex alcoholics who do the same. Harm reduction is real.

I’m afraid to be honest about stuff like this with my home group., I don’t drink would never want to take another drink!

My therapist also believes that cannabis use (not abuse) is harm reduction. I need to create and uphold this boundary
