One reason I used to drink

Was to forget about how truly lonely and alone I feel all the time.

Heavy work out this morning and hard trail bike ride tonight not enough to mask it today.

I relapsed after 6 months once because I was all alone on a thanksgiving and just couldn’t do it. Looking back I set myself up for failure as I could have made plans to not be alone. Anyway, I got a dog and she really helps with loneliness. Plus I’ve made a couple of actual friends in my late 30’s who I can count on because of getting a dog. We go out and meet people. She get me on hikes and to the beach all the time.
Other than exploring your interests I’m sorry. I don’t have any recommendations on dealing with loneliness but just wanted to say we’re all rooting for you!

I didn’t drink last night. I honestly rarely even think about drinking anymore, and with how I’ve started really caring about my body and working out the idea of the useless calories feels stupid.

Its just a really relentless nagging feeling that seems to overtake any success I am having in my life.
