May 5th I celebrated a full year without drugs and alcohol. By the Grace of God I got myself off of the streets and saved myself. I’m so grateful for every single day I have on this earth. Every night I get to lay in my bed, every shower, every hot meal. Being grateful is so important, because my addiction broke me over, and over again-it bested me- and I was brought to my knees. I’m lucky to be sober and alive because not many people make it out of Kensington. I’m not going to lie and say life is roses and pink clouds because that’s BS. Life is LIFE! I’m thankful for that, this is what I thought I wasn’t capable of handling, everyday life. One small step at a time. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the Difference. Gods will, not ours be done. Amen
