One year today. January 23 2021 was my last hangover and I quit drinking fully expecting to die anyway. I just wanted to spend time with my kids before I went. Turned out doctor was wrong and my liver and kidneys did recover. Neener neener doc McStuffins.
My health is amazing. I really am healthier than I was 20 years ago. My kids love me. My parents are proud. Life is good. I don't ever think of "never being able to drink again" because it has been replaced by "never having to not feel so awesome!"
If you are suffering then be kind to yourself and seek medical help first. You can join a recovery program after you're stabilized but dying from withdrawal like I almost did doesn't help anybody.
Btw Loosid. Your counter is wrong. Calendar says one year. The I Am Sober app says one year. Your counter says 11 months 29 days. That's really dangerous and could trigger somebody. Fix it.
