One year without heroin is hard to believe. I pretty much lost everything and everyone I cared about but am thankful to still be breathing.
If you’re struggling just hang on! The hardest part is making the decision to quit, it truly is.
I first got sober at the end of 2018 and was doing great for 6 months but deep down I didn’t want to quit, I just had to for my marriage and career. I relapsed and slowly watched life implode.
It took me losing a loving wife, my house and job for me to see that I had to want it for me. Because no one is stopping me from getting high now but I have simply lost the urge to use and the obsession is gone. And all I had to do was decide to do it.
Life is far from perfect and although I’m struggling financially I know it’s only temporary.
Hope everyone has a great memorial weekend!
