One year ago I was in the hospital with heart complications due to my extreme alcohol abuse. I was depressed, full of anxiety, physically unhealthy, didn’t feel like a had a purpose, and just waiting for my time to come.
The doctor told me if I had another drink thst I would die….
Fast forward a year later and I’m finally living the life I thought I would never live. I have a great job, an amazing woman in my life who really cares about me, a new relationship with my family, and I’m excited about life in general.
There’s still a loooot of work to be done mentally and physically but I’m looking forward to the journey. It hasn’t been easy at all but this group has helped me realize that feeling the emotions I am is a part of the process and thst it’s me feeling something for the first time.
It’s motivating actually.
Anyways, cheers some sparkling water to one year under my belt and the rest of my new life.
