So many profiles feature pictures with people drinking, it never really struck me until I started weeding those out. I don’t get why you would post a picture from a bar 
, not all that attractive:roll_eyes:, but whatever.
We all know it’s a sh*tshow, anyone had luck meeting someone that “fits” online? How do you approach it.

I am open to dating women who drink as long as they're not alcoholics or addicts, so I swipe left on women who post more than one photo that features alcohol. I answer the alcohol and drug-related profile questions honestly. I also use filters to filter out women who drink "often."
One of my past gfs (who I had met online) chose not to drink the whole time we were together -- with no pressure from me to do so, mind you. Apparently normies can do that? It didn't work out but it worked for a while!
Online dating is hard, regardless, so it takes patience!

I tell people I don’t drink. If they ask why, I say it was time. Most people get that. Words like recover, AA, etc… scare people off. I’m ok with a moderate drinker myself but it’s so much a part of dating culture (even at 50) that it’s a needle in a hay stack game.
You are a lucky man, don’t loose her. I had to get divorced to get sober, so starting over. You are correct, it sucks today.

There are some dating apps, Hinge for instance, that let you set preferences, for instance you can make it a dealbreaker if someone is a drinker, thereby weeding out anyone whose habits might potentially be triggering to you. With this setting enabled, The only people that show up in your feed are nondrinkers. And people who are drinkers aren’t allowed to “like” you…
I would NEvER go out with someone who drank or lied and said they didn’t!! I lost 23 years of sobriety over a man like that!! It sucks!!
