To those who feel that AA could work for you, please be honest, open minded, and willing. As long as you have these 3 things and follow the guidance of a sponsor to work the steps as outlined in the big book, meaning you thoroughly follow the steps, you will have a good chance at staying sober. I’ve just finished going through the steps myself and for me it is working spectacularly. Results do vary, based on honesty, open mindedness, and willingness. Have a blessed day
Yes! Congrats on getting through the steps. It's been a slow but rewarding process for me and I'm currently on step 5. I've learned that willingness also means willing to do the work and go to meetings even whey you don't feel like it
I'm fortunate to have an amazing sponsor and a great women's group who help me keep my forward momentum. Sometimes doing the step work and showing up to a meeting feels hard, but I never regret it once in there! This post was a great reminder to me to keep writing my program, so thank you!
That’s what we do in AA, we share the message with others in hopes that they work the program thoroughly. We can only keep what we gain by giving it away. Faith without works is dead as they say. I’m glad it’s working for you. Some people get scared off by some of the concepts such as “God” but it’s not a religious program, it’s a spiritual one. Some people use Buddha as their higher power, and some just count on AA itself as their higher power. The point is to reset the moral compass and gain connection to others who are sober. It’s that connection that really keeps us sober. I pray to God personally, and use connection as my resource to stay sober. Keep up the great work Molly, it’s worth it.
