Relationships are so tough. I struggle with similar thoughts. The right people will not take off when things don’t go their way. It takes time to find more of those genuine connections. In the meantime though you’re there for yourself and you’ve got your recovery spaces too!

I’m sorry you went through that. It hurts when someone’s actions don’t match their words. I’ve learned to pay attention to consistency more than promises.

I don’t have expectations. I let people be who they are. There’s less surprises that way. As long as I’m trying to be the best version of myself then that’s all that matters.

Definitely been there, and very recently too. Hence a relapse and a return to recovery. I now try to be on guard but not so much that you might miss something sincere. It’s a difficult balance.
