So fun. It's the greatest. I'm so glad I drank for 12 yrs in an insane downward spiral of drinking a bottle of wine a night (insert maniacal laugh). What is your physical deterioration or consequence?
That's beautiful.
I got no teeth, not because of drugs, just because I'm too dumb to brush my teeth on drugs
Eh, that's pretty harsh
Oof. Do you have dentures?
Where do I start? Blood pressure off the rails for 10 years. Not to be gross, but polyps in my colonoscopies, non-cancerous thank God.. (I know that could be from a myriad of things but I am thinking it’s the alcohol). Short-term memory lapses. And I’m sure even though I’m getting older, some of these physical pains I’m feeling have a direct relation to my alcohol abuse over the decades. On the flipside, I’m getting better. Numbers are looking more normal, and I understand this disease so much more. Sleep it’s so much better. Perpetual work in progress.
I’ve lost a significant amount of dexterity in my hand due to nerve damage from a career of heavy drinking.
That's great to hear that it gets better.
Eek. We need our hands! Glad you stopped!
Dislocated my knees so many times drunk that now I need surgery. I also was in a roll over accident not because of drinking but idk which one did what
Jesus!
Grateful for my 'imaginary' friends like God and the Saints that I talk to because of the psychosis I sowed in my addictions. It doesn't go away, but many of the demons have.
The only physical consequence of my addiction (besides dying a few times) was the 12 years I spent in jail or prison.
Dying!? Holy cow.
Yup. That’s Fentanyl for you
I stopped before my liver did. Thank you Jesus! Thank you AA!
I have been drinking for 40+ years, I ended up in hospital they told me I had to quit drinking, so I did, cold turkey and stopped smoking (also 40 years. I was totally out of it it's been a year i just relapse last week drank a whole bottle of vodka.
Mostly blind in my left eye due to getting kicked in the eye, and then not getting the medical attention I needed in a timely manner due to being in and out of jail and generally using drugs instead of taking care of myself
It's crazy how fast we can drink when we relapse!
Dang man. Sorry to hear.
