Play that tape through until the end this weekend. Our disease is really good at tricking us to think that after a while of sobriety that this time will be different. For me, it just never worked, getting honest with myself I always ended up drinking until moral bankruptcy occurred and the shame followed. When the realization came came that my use was going to take my life eventually is when I entered recovery and have not had to drink again since. In acceptance and honesty, I play the tape through with honesty to myself.
