The dreams fricken suck. Even if nightmares aren’t occurring, the using dreams feel so real, it’s like you relapsed. I’ve been sober for 4mo and almost every day I’ve had a dream that has involved me using some form of drug and I’ve even woken up thinking I was under the influence. Sadly it is normal and post acute withdrawal syndrome. While relapsing will help you get rid of the dreams in the moment, you’ll have to go through the shitty dreams later on. You’re so strong for going through it now, I say talk to your psychiatrist to get ya onto some meds to help w the dreams. (:

I try to recite the steps in my head. When, (not if) I get lost, I go back to step one. It works really well for me. A side affect may be falling asleep in meetings when someone reads the step. Haha.
