Someone I claimed as life long friend invited me to live with her and her mom . One day my sister called for a ride to her chemo appointment and my friend told her she would take her , my sister paid her in advance and my friend backed out at the last minute this happened 3 weeks before she passed.
Well since 2023 I had been her (my sister's care taker).
Well when I found out she was in her last stage of life because she was taken to the ER for some issues the family and I found out she wasn't gonna be making it out .well someone how this supposed friend found out and showed up at the hospital I asked her to leave and she wouldnt.
On Dec 15 2025 my sister passed away.
That same exact day my supposed friend put me out.
I just found out that she the friend had called my kids and and told them a bunch of stuff that wasn't true such as my sons daughter wasn't his and a list full more of lies. I'm not supposed to know but my son told me.
Help me please I don't know how to handle this cause now she's coming to the celebration of life in January and I can't handle seeing her at my sister's final fair well.
Please help me with this cause I'm torn about going or not. She has slandered my name to my family. Knowing I am in recovery from alcohol I don't know how to handle this.
The celebration of life is about your sister only - if this person shows up, ignore her and if she causes a scene, have a family member escort her out - God will take care of it and finally - “imagine everything going well” - it works - so sorry for your loss!
I believe, speaking for myself, the biggest obstacles (tests) in this journey are from the ppl closest to you. Many want to see you doing good to better yourself, some are not cheering for you. This alleged friend seems more like a wolf in sheep's clothing and should be removed from your life. I agree with TJ as this is about your sister so remain respectful for her. This so called friend will show her true colors.

Set your pride aside and be there for her and only her.
