I realize Loosid is not affiliated with AA, but there are many members here who have gotten sober through AA and other members who are contemplating giving it a try.
Are you aware that the old timers of AA used to take their sponsee's through all 12 steps in 4 one hour sessions? This had a 75% success rate.
And then the sponsees brought newcomers in themselves.
If you are in the business of saving lives and giving away what has been freely given to you, you can order a book online line entitled,
Back to Basics. And yes, it is conference approved.
https://www.hazelden.org/store/item/12470?Back-to-Basics
The book costs much less than what we spent on drinking in one day. It will show you how to do this so people can experience freedom ASAP. The entire 12 steps are the solution. If people are poking around with the steps, history has shown that most of these people will relapse because their pain has not been dealt with.
As it says in the AA Big Book chapter, The Doctor's Opinion, and this applies regardless of what program of recovery you choose,
"Unless this person can experience an entire psychic change, there is very little hope of his or her recovery!"
In AA, this psychic change is acquired by taking the 12 steps.
If you want what we have and are willing to go to any length to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps!
