Sorry to hear you are struggling. I don’t know your story, but I do know choices need to be made. You say most people in your life are toxic.. time to cut ties. We have all had to do that in sobriety. Soon enough you will figure out that most of those “friends/family” were not people you would normally associate with any way. As far as the ones who don’t understand, how can they? It’s a fool’s errand to except someone to know what addiction is like if they are not addicts. And that’s ok, they don’t need to understand it. My sponsor told me early on, right now the only thing you need to do is don’t pick up. Fixing things and figuring out who is going to be a part of the next move comes later.
If you are not in a program I would recommend it. The fellowship helps. Being in a room with people who get it… it helps.

I lost all my “friends” when I stopped drinking. I spend a lot of time alone now. I hang out with my parents a lot. It’s been quite the change from the barfly I used to be.

I’ve really come to need my alone time, now. Albeit very lonely at times, it’s still better than self destruction.

Exactly that’s feeling, lucky you have parents, but I don’t, I want hang out with sober people. That’s tougher. I feel like choice to hard part explain

hey girl! I understand… I’ve been struggling with joining a group and it’s some thing that I need to do. Have you joined a group?

Come to AA,make new sober friends. Easy.
