Admitting to being powerless over alcohol, has been a humbling experience for me.
It reminds me I am not fully in control, the moment that I decide to take a drink, I am aware I have given up my power, my freedom, my spirit, over to alcohol. After one drink, I am powerless.
Knowing I am powerless, it humbles my ego. Surrendering keep the ego in check.
There are many things other than alcohol, that we humans are powerless over like the far future, other peoples opinions/decisions, and much more.
Everyday I try to practice surrendering to what I can not control.
