Maybe try googling AA meetings in your area and go meet some new friends there, I’ve been where you are and I wish I would have done what I’m telling you now , could have saved me a lot of grief and major life threatening problems, get to a meeting and talk to some new folks! They know where you are now

Stay on this site, and you will have friends before long. No one understands an alcoholic or drug addict like another alcoholic. We all have our own stories, but with one common denominator...our lives were out of control.
Just keep doing what you just did...reach out.

Like other people have said, get to some meetings and keep going, boom instant friends. Be a friend, make some friends. Get to some meetings ASAP.

I plan to go to meetings as soon as I’m off quarantine - my son and his wife who live with me both have it. One more day of quarantine and I’m there!

Meetings are awesome to make new local friends. I have made several friends in this app that I check on nearly on a daily basis via text, phone and/or on here. They check on me as well. Just reinforcing my recovery foundation.

I’m in the same boat.
No friends? I have tons of acquaintances but no one really close-my husband was my best friend however he passed away in April so I’ve been down ever since. Even though he’d been sick for over 2 years I’m still reeling

I’m sorry to hear that. Yes, I do not have any friends. I guess my parents care if I am alive, but that’s it.

Go to AA online find a zoom meeting that’s what I had to do during quarantine and I also do that when I can’t make a meeting in person. My group is amazing.
