Putting my recovery first

I just quit my job to focus on my recovery. I knew if i kept working i was going to relapse. I miss going to meetings everyday.

And I miss the fellowship. I guess there’s a word limit on these posts.

That is a smart choice. Nothing is more important than your recovery. There will be plenty of time to focus on work when you are in the right place. Good for you!

That is very self-aware and insightful! I know many people early in recovery that throw all there attention/energy into their job, and end up burned out & relapse. As Jordan said, your personal recovery comes first!

You should ask your doctor to put you on temporary disability so you can maximize your time away from work to stay focused on your recovery. Good work focusing on yourself

Glad you're prioritizing your sobriety, that's not an easy call to make. Curious what about work felt risky, people, environment, stress? If it was the meetings you were missing, there are online ones running all day, every day, worth a look now that you've got more time. Just something to watch for either way: a lot of open free time can be its own risk, structure tends to help more than it hurts.
