Question for parents out there, I haven't been sober for

Question for parents out there... I haven't been sober for long, I find myself very irritable especially with my child. I am usually a very patient person, but I find myself easily iritated. This is having a negative effect on my relationship with my child, who believes I want perfection and that is not the case. How do I manage this?

How long have you been sober? Do you have a primary care doctor? There might be meds that can help you through this tough time. It’s great that you noticed this and want to change it. Take care

We want our kids to see us in a certain way, and now you are vulnerable. Depending on how old your kids are, and what they do and don’t understand, it can be frustrating. First be gentle with yourself we all have e to learn how to deal with ourself sober. We can’t expect others to just do a 180 and know what to do, or how to now act. If your kids are old enough, sit them down. Be honest with what’s going on. This took me time to do with my kids. I did it as a “by the way” conversation when on a road trip. You will get there.

there’s a section directed to family that you might find useful. In developing a different understanding.
