Ran into an old friend whom I hadn’t seen in

Ran into an old friend whom I hadn’t seen in many years. He is 56 days sober and loving it. I’m so proud of him for being open and choosing himself and life. His freshness and honesty and excitement refreshed me. It’s easy to forget how easy it is to become complacent and comfortable in your sobriety. It’s dangerous. I haven’t been going to meetings and have been lost without my spiritual condition. The power of the program and sobriety is without words. This gentleman woke me up to myself just in time. My biggest suggestion in sobriety of all ages is to always listen to another sober person. The support in just being sober together today will help carry you through any situation. I must admit that new sobriety is so hard but also can be great because your job is simple-stay sober one day at a time. Now I’ve put that on the back burner because life is hard and busy. But my sobriety is always number one. I don’t have a fear of slipping but what I forget about is that I’m an alcoholic that even without a drink can act like an alcoholic. I will pray tonight and reach out more to other alcoholics and heck maybe even goto a meeting!! Can’t just show up for my medallion each year!! Time to work, help others and be the best version of myself. :v:t3:
