Really feeling down today, feeling sad and angry. Having thoughts of saying screw it and go get drunk. Really having trouble today not giving in. Having trouble processing my thoughts, feelings and how to deal with them. Everyone around me I hurt because of my mouth and the things I say. So I’m just like why not, everyone’s already mad at me upset and my world caving in. At least I can feel a little less of the pain. Just a f$&@ it day
Hey Greg! I just read your profile. I suggest you go back and read it. Also, I saw the pics of your family. We both know alcohol is not the solution. What se you doing on a daily basis to help yourself? Do you have a recovery plan? You need to take some action Greg. Just not drinking may work for a small amount of time, but it’s not going to help you from staying stopped. You need to protect yourself with a daily program.I do AA. There are are other options too, but they all require some action from you. Don’t throw your life away. You can gain your self respect back, as well as the love and respect back from your family. Now is the time.
I’ve been going to aa and have a sponsor. Been doing things. I just don’t know what it is. It’s like it doesn’t sink in and I know what I need to do just can’t put it into actions. Idk. Hard to explain. It’s like I see me doing it and I try to stop but I’m looking from thd outside in and can’t. Then after it happens it’s me again and I’m left with the mess.
Great you go to meetings. Great you have a sponsor. Have you shared this with your home group/sponsor? From my experience, something magical happens when I get vulnerable and honest at a meeting. I can’t explain it, but just getting that crazy sh$t out of my head releases the pain and suffering.
Try and get around other sober people. Just hang on. The desire to drink will go away. Use the recovery tools. Lit, sponsor etc. hit a zoom meeting if you have to
Thought to Consider . . .
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one that I can, and the wisdom to know that person is me.
