Try to stay busy finding sober friends. That helps also. Seeking help, helps

In sobriety, I discovered I had a lot of drinking buddies, and not a lot of friends. But it’s fine. In losing them, I found myself. So far it’s been a good trade off.

It is tough when people who aren’t alcoholics just don’t get it. They think it’s a weakness many times. People told me that some of my friends would turn on me and compromise my sobriety and I didn’t believe it would happen to me until it did. I found that sometimes If I want to be included in a party or whatever I always have my own car so I can get the heck out of there if I need to! Plan a sober trip to see some sober friends. Or do a Zoom meeting. I still “go” to meetings with my friend in her Syracuse meetings and I’m in Florida 
. That’s the great thing about reaching out in sobriety. We are all here for you! You can do it! I hope something one of us said makes you feel better ❤🩹

It's sort of like breakups how some friends split the pair that broke up. If others can't respect your decisions and your desire to change or even worse they try to push you back in a direction you don't wish to go then it's time to break out the logic and be objective in what you want and that direction. Your decision to change your life is not a burden. It's your choice and if others can't respect that then... Well
