Recovery can allow you to live a life you love

If you’re able to think and dream BIG, you can turn your dreams into reality.

During my first 30 days of my sobriety I lived in a long-term residential program.

The counselors introduced us to create a vision board.

The vision board had three sections to the board.

The first section I input pictures of my past. Pictures such beers, hard liquor, and wine. These pictures signified my addiction to alcohol.

To represent my addiction to hardcore drugs were pictures of MDMA pills & crystal meth.

I also input pictures of people that were homeless. I became homeless due to my addiction.

I put pictures on the vision board that represented guilt, defeated, hopelessness , low self esteem, PTSD, and pictures that represented my thoughts of committing suicide.

Many of you may relate to the pictures I input on the vision board that represented my insane lifestyle I was living before gaining sobriety.

In the middle section of my vision board represented my current lifestyle (at that time) of being clean and sober.

I input pictures of the Big Book, NA books, all books that related to the 12 Steps program for Narcotics Anonymous & Alcohol Anonymous.

The section section in my vision board were pictures that represented community.

Having community and support is arguably one of the most important (if not the most important) weapon recovering addicts & alcohol utilize to combat our addiction.

In the third section of the vision board which is on the right side of the board was all my goals, dreams, anything that represented the life I desired as a man that’s in recovery.

The counselors stated, no matter how big or impossible I may think that’s not achievable; to put every dream and goals I wanted to achieve in the future.

A HUGE goal of mine was to earn a college degree.

Now, one month prior to getting into recovery, I was homeless, active in my addiction, suicidal, suffered from PTSD, a learning disability, mood & anxiety disorder.

I barely graduated high school on time, so to earn a college degree was one of those BIG goals I didn’t know was obtainable.

My friends it took me 16 years but I earned my Masters degree in the spring of 2018.

I share one my greatest accomplishments in life, is to inspire & empower you that living a life of recovery can help you live a successful & fulfilling lifestyle.

Today, as an published author, transformational speaker, and life strategist, I help professionals, business owners, college students, and my brothers and sisters in recovery to overcome obstacles and turn their dreams into reality.

My purpose in life is to use my passion, energy, & love, I provide inspiration & divine wisdom to help people live a life they love.

As long as we stay clean and sober one day at a time, we have the ability to step into our greatness.

Thank you for giving me the space and time to share my life’s journey in recovery.

I’m here to support you amazing souls through the good, amazing, bad, the ugly, and unknown times we go through while living life on life’s terms.

Sending you love, light, abundance, and infinite blessings,

Shaundi
