Recovery Careers

Has anyone successfuly started a career in the recovery space after their own experience recovering? I’m 2 years sober and having trouble finding work. With my career (software engineer) there’s a gap and company fallout (FMLA retaliation) to explain. With anything else, I’m overqualified. It’s a struggle. I’d be just as happy working in a rehab, even at a lower pay, just to be connected, less isolated, and giving back.

Working on that path myself. Since you are 2 yrs. You can become a peer support counselor with just a few weeks of training.
That can get your foot in the door. Also university of the cumberlands you can get an online LCPC degree or LAC if you want to fast track this path. UofC is nationwide accredited
