Regaining independence

Someone was talking about loneliness the other day..and this is something I experience daily..at 5 years sober I separated with my live in boyfriend of 11 years. I know it sounds harsh but 6 of those years were toxic we drank we used he was too worried about what I was doing so he couldn't keep a job..my job suffered and became overwhelming my house I am still trying to go through and deep clean. I literally have like 13 junk drawers. I don't push sobriety on anyone but we just weren't of the same mindset anymore. So here I am 5yrs 10 months clean n sober and I am slowly going through stuff organizing and finding that even though it's tough sometimes..I can do this today. I have my fur kids here and my adult kids n family are a phone call away and supportive that I am regaining my sober independence. Just wanted to share Incase anyone else was struggling. Rant over.

Good rant. Learning to be on one’s own isn’t easy to do after a long relationship. Yet, totally freeing and worth the struggle in the end.
