Hello,
I recently had the worst relapse of my life and had to go to detox. After this, I am going to a sober living house and doing outpatient. i am so happy to be given a second chance at life, and live life sober. I am looking for sober friends to connect with, as i don’t really have any. thank you so much:-)
Hi Katie! , relapse is part of recovery , as long as you keep trying on that path to recovery , you’re trying
Good job Katie. It's always nice to hear about people not giving up.
Glad you came back. This site is good for sober friendly connections.
You got this!
I had several (5) relapses that ended up in horrible withdrawals. My SUD Psychologist was very nonjudgmental and was happy that I never gave up coming back to treatment. And I am glad that he is in my corner. That last withdrawal was the hardest and could have been deadly. The ICU doctor remembered me from previous withdrawals and he told me I am poisoning myself and ruining my vital organs. And that I was in jeopardy of dying. My motivation for sobriety.
Reach out to me if you need someone to talk to.
I completely understand! When I was using I overdosed 6 times and that still wasn’t enough! I caught my wife of 5 years cheating on me this morning by reading the text’s in her phone. I drive 5 hours back to where I’m from and I’m going to sober living tomorrow! I need to be around people who are just like me and will support me through this horrible time! Just know your doing the right thing
I’m so glad you made it through. You have so much more to live for. You made some great right decisions. Also glad you realize it could get so much worse if you keep using (death). Keep on love. Get the most you can out of detox and learn from the sober people in outpatient.
thank you!

I disagree, kinda. I would say UNFORTUNATELY relapse is sometimes a part of recovery. Saying it's just part of recovery is almost like saying "it's okay, it never sticks the first time". That's how my alcoholic junkie brain translates it.
No i understand. Now that you explained it in that way i Can see why it would be seen as a negative prospect , thank you for the insight !!!!
Oh I was just saying how I see it. I have always looked for a reason to not quit or to minimalize or rationalize the trail of broken sh7t behind me, so I try not to give myself any ways out. Haha
