Getting off iv meth (an 8 ball every 3 days) use was the hardest thing I have ever done. I never thought the pain of withdrawals would end. Did good and I relapsed. But it wasnt the end, I did not give up. To the people on my journey I thank you. Your positive comments and posts are what keeps me going. It been hard getting my life on track. Especially when I have nothing to my name except a tent and some old clothes. But im just checking in. Letting yall know that im still fighting the good fight. This year I will get off the streets and change my life. Even if its one day at a time
Hang in there, Omar. One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time if you have to. It’s all you can do.
Thanks Joe. It's been hard, still dealing with the cravings. But I will not let my story end at homelessness and addiction. I will beat this disease and move back home with my babe. I just have to go all out on this! Did the 12 step program help you? Do you recommend AA or NA?
I have been living in a pop up camper in the winter in nova Scotia Canada until recently I have a room with a friend in Recovery as well and I just got my 2years December 25th keep your head up lot of people going through the same thing and I can say there's better days ahead my friend stay strong
Omar i no from experience i was 5 years clean so proud of myself and my partner at the time then his parents passed away within the same year and we relapsed it took us a month to get back Up again but we did took us a while financially to dig ourselves out of that mess but when ur sober anything is possible life is so much easier and happier I've started to notice u will get off the streets keep saving up and asking for help from outreach programs and take one min at a time best wishes to you Omar happy new year
The 12 step definitely helped me and I would definitely recommend going to both meetings
You certainly have the resolve to beat this, Omar. I never needed to do NA, but after years of struggling on and off on my own, and staying clean for months at a time, AA, a good sponsor , and the 12 steps have kept me sober for longer than I’ve been in decades. Don’t be intimidated, there’s no judgement, just people that want to help.
So glad you are still with us Omar! Never never never give up
