What are the action steps you take after relapsing?
Get back to meetings asap. Get a sponsor to help you work the steps in the BB, and get active. Make your fav meeting your home group. Start doing some service work. Get there early, help set up, make coffee, and stay late. Help clean up. Some of my best meetings are the meetings before the meeting, and or the meeting after the meeting.
Immediate steps are to consider if medical treatment needs to be sought out and secure a safe environment for yourself, however that looks for you. That might be making sure you get rid of remaining substances and cleaning those areas up or on the opposite end of that might be acknowledging mental health issues and going somewhere where professionals can aide you until you're mentally stable as alot of addiction goes hand and hand with mental health and some may be manic or unstable mentally prior to and after relapse.
Acknowledge you made a mistake and you can choose to continue it or get back up, identify WHY you made the mistake- what triggered it and why. Identify if it was preventable [the circumstances leading up to it/triggers] and if so identify how you can prevent it from reoccurring. Plan what you can do differently next time to cope appropriately and deal with future triggers that may arise. Make yourself accountable. Open up to someone about your relapse and take accountability for it. Find strength within your support systems and be vocal with them about what you need to best help you move foward and discuss how you can be proactive in prevention in the future. Review your relapse prevention plan or establish one if that idea sits well with you.
Sorry this isn't necessarily in the best order, it's extremely late and I'm just trying to respond quickly before bed so it's kind of thrown together and summarized a bit
