Relapsed

Quit prioritizing my step work, and relapsed after 6 months. Quit talking to my sponsor and I started getting stuck in my resentments and self pity. Wasn’t long before I started justifying taking a “break” in my head. Pretty disheartening, but back to work I go. I guess I just need to quit lying to myself and be a little more thorough this time around.

Also, don't forget to reach out to your sober support group when you're feeling weird. Stay connected. Hang in there man.

Hi Nicholas!

Sobriety is a tough journey to go through but it is great to see that you're identifying what thoughts and behaviors may lead you to relapse, which is already a great step to finding a way to change these thought patterns.

I’m glad you’re back and have the strength to get back up and not stay knocked down.

I just did the exact same thing. Little over 6 months sober and relapsed. Feeling overall horrible and ashamed. So Nicholas we’re both starting over. Gonna work harder this time.

You just said the magic words, "honest with yourself". That's the first step and daily step to the work. Welcome back!

Keep coming back

Glad you are here!

Welcome back. It’s just another lesson learned. Be thankful it was only one day. Sending prayers
