Hi Kathy! I’ve been where you are. Relapsed after 25 years. Almost didn’t make it back, but today is day 502 of my new life. While the first months were difficult, I’m happier now than I have been for many years…even many of the dry years. You can do it too

Kathy, stay strong. Reach out to people and never quit. We all have been where you are. I am on my seventh day. Remember surrender yourself to God or your higher power. Use sober friends, sponsors or us to help you through this.

Question, and of course feel free to ignore:
When you relapsed, how long did "it" last for? For example, did you drink one day and then restarted your clock, or was it a longer period of relapse?

You aren't alone. I relapsed after 10.5 years and was out for 5 years. I thank God I made it back.

The best thing to do is to get back on the horse and ride it and go back to the basics and do what got you sober in the first place and you do it a day at a time just like you did the first time
