This is only my opinion and what has been my experience. There is a difference between social drinkers, all the time drinkers and alcoholic. My wife drinks. Sometimes she tears it up, sometimes it is a glass of wine or a beer. The relationship part comes with a high level of communication, and setting boundaries.. both people! The other part of that is adherence to those boundaries and letting a partner know when they are with about to cross it or has fruit. There were very long conversations that happened when I got sober. Agreements made. It is possible to be with a drinker if you’re comfortable in your own sobriety and have the support of the other person. The point is do what is best FOR YOU. It’s your sobriety and you know what is a deal breaker. Good luck.
