Tonight, I was at a drag theatrical production and one of the attendees in the audience was reality TV star and RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Star Mrs. Kasha Davis who is sober and has spoken out on sobriety in the media with their public platform. I introduced myself as recently in recovery and thanked them for being vocal in the media about addiction and sobriety in the LGBTQ+ community with the platform they were given because representation matters for us. I didn’t ask for a photo or autograph or anything, but simply shook hands and gave my name when asked. I was simply moved to pass along my gratitude in the moment.
