Reset my tracker today… wish me luck y’all I’d greatly appreciate any good energy anyone wants to send to me.
I believe you can build and keep sober momentum. Keep the faith friend.
I know it’s hard but try to be as easy on yourself as you can. I’m only a week sober and just now being able to give myself some compassion. A slip, mistake or reset does not negate the time, effort and lessons learned being sober.
Keep at it, you got this!
Welcome home
You’ve got this. You’re strong. One day at a time
You can do this! Don’t worry about anything else. Just today.
Been there. One day, for no apparent reason or stress, I had a drink at lunch and it took 3 months to stop. Blew over a year in one afternoon.
Glad you are back at it right away.
Hey Chloe, you had a yr and you will get there again. You should sit and think about what happened, why and how to deal with it next time.
I read Alcohol Explained by William Porter it's easy to read and understand what Alcohol does to keep you addicted. I also like Gillian Tietz's website, podcast and YouTube videos called Sober Powered. She's a recovering alcoholic and talks about everything Alcohol. Very informative. Reach out anytime best of luck
I was over a year too/: I actually told myself well Ill smoke a joint with my friend tomorrow since she’s a smoker she’d probably appreciate it🤦🏽♀️ but she fell asleep and I’ve made it 1 day sober so I’m just going to stay sober
Thank you I will do that and definitely listen to the podcast! I appreciate everyone who commented
I'm 15 months sober this go round if you ever want to talk sobriety gove a shout
You got this!
You got this Chloe!
Chloe
This is all you need to know about alcoholsm. It came from a doctor that had much experience working with hopeless alcoholics.
The big book of Alcoholics Anonymous has been the textbook for alcoholics for many years.
Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. To them, their alcoholic life seems the only normal one. They are
restless, irritable and discontented
unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks—drinks which they see others taking with impunity. After they have succumbed to the desire again, as so many do, and the
phenomenon of craving
develops, they pass through the well-known stages of a spree, emerging remorseful, with a firm resolution not to drink again. This is repeated over and over, and unless this person can experience an
entire psychic change
there is very little hope of his or her recovery.”
Sending you good vibes you got this!!!
Good luck . you got this, if you want it…………
You got this
That’s ok! Don’t beat yourself up.
It’s simple. Don’t drink is number one, secondly go to meetings, and thirdly work the steps with a sponsor. This is if you don’t want to repeat this reset again.
