Sat down today to think about a lot.. I lost one of my best friends a year ago to an OD. I have a picture in my room. It’s me & 6 other of my closest lifelong friends. I’m the only one left in that picture alive. I lost all of them in 2020-2021 to addiction. Im sick of this disease today.
I understand. Although I’ve been clean a couple years, I just got a call from one of my oldest best friends last night. He is in the hospital and probably won’t make it, he wanted to say goodbye. He’s 51.
Yeah, the drugs today want to kill you. Ugly world. Feel blessed you living again now. Live for them.
So many of my friends and people I loved are gone. 2 of my exes are dead. The one I loved the most gone. I totally understand where you are at. This disease doesn't discriminate. It takes who it wants and leaves the rest of us broken trying to pick up the pieces and become better versions of ourselves. I truly believe we survived for a reason. We have to be. Just know your friends are watching you and routing for you to survive!
