Restart

Well, today would have marked 25 days but today, I'm hitting the restart button :unamused: I didn't drink super heavy like I normally do, which is still an accomplishment, but I still made the conscious decision to drink. I refuse to beat myself up. I knew this wasn't going to be as easy as it felt. I was overly confident. But it's OK. I'm human and I'm still in this. I'm not giving up!!
Here's to day 1 (again)!

Don’t let it get you down! Can’t count how many day ones I’ve had in my life! The main thing is acknowledging you have a problem and that you want to change!! Keep at it and one day it will work:call_me_hand:t3::v:t3::sunglasses:

Don’t give up and keep fighting the good fight, we all have slip ups and misstep’s. Realize where you messed up and let it go, it happened now it’s behind. Also… it takes a lot of courage to admit to yourself and others that you messed up, stay in the right mindset and remember progress not perfection! :innocent:

The attitude you have is a huge accomplishment! You are right is ain’t easy. Now you know another thing that doesn’t work so you can avoid or change the way you look at that. Just because you are day one again doesn’t negate the 24 days you had! Keep rocking it!

I'm happy that you're back. That in and of itself is a huge accomplishment.

I'm don't want to glorify a relapse with this next comment. However, in my personal experience it took me several relapses to start getting some significant clean/sober time. Though, in my personal situation I immediately returned to the rooms after a relapse like you're doing. In two cases I had to return back to detox and rehab. In those two cases it was for opiate withdrawals. In short, the point I'm trying to make is that the sooner we reach out and pick ourselves back up the easier the process gets. Thank you for sharing your experience. Most importantly, welcome back.

I’ve relapsed over loneliness and feeling lonely. I’ve had to really pay attention and plan ahead a bit around certain holidays/events. Having a dog helps when I don’t have my 4 year old. We hike and go to the beach a lot. Never give up!

I agree with B-rye don’t let this slip be a slide. I am glad you are still in it and not giving up. Be kind to yourself. I consider this disease a beast. 24 days is progress. We can do this.
