A drink or a drug won't solve your problems, acceptance and the serenity prayer are things I find useful in situations like this. If you think that drinking will help you laugh it off, you can do it sober too, just focus on the positive things in your life and what you are grateful for.

Be upset. Laugh. Talk about it. Whatever you do: don't pick up.

Good words of wisdom from the replies above. I know it doesn’t totally take the pain away, but hoping it eases it just enough to help you get thru this without a drink. We need to learn how to live life on life’s terms without numbing ourselves. Good to share about these things. Get these feelings out so that they don’t come back to harm you. Time and sobriety will heal you :pray::peace_symbol:

My best sponsor ghosted on me after he and my wife hooked up. But i did not drink over it. I am frustrated, at times angry, others hurt, but i am sober and chasing my sanity closely with meetings, prayers, journaling, and now this app. She can no longer have me, and should i find someone else, the new she will never put up with my drunken bullshit.

Sorry that is happening to you. But picking up definitely will not help the matter or you. Not everyone who comes into our lives are meant to stay. Some just teach us things we needed to learn. As bad as that hurts it happens for a reason. You have a new journey ahead of you. Don’t leave before you receive the gifts sobriety brings. Believe me a few months from now you will be glad that you have moved on

That sounds very crushing. Will waking up with a hangover solve this situation? It sucks to have to feel and not numb ourselves anymore. I’m gonna pray for you.
