Saying the steps are not for everybody is another way of searching for "an easier softer way", and permits me to give up the hard journey through self-awareness and self-discovery brought about by the 12 steps that ultimately leads to a profound Spiritual Awakening.
Notice I did Not say experience, but Awakening.
Carl Jung expressed to Dr Bob and Bill W. that the only hope for the hopeless drinker in the last stages of alcoholism was to have some type of profound spiritual awakening.
Making it there takes work and prayer and a bunch of learning. It's not easy but it's so simple.
