A really spicy chai is a good antidote for me, or NA ginger beer. It’s so spicy and bitey it gives you that invigorating boost

It’s ok, you going to be fine. This is completely normal in early sobriety and can change in a split second. If you are anything like me as soon as the weekend started it was time to drink. I found it important to do thing that you may enjoy completely out of your normal routine. Something fun, hike, art, coffee with a sober person, anything you may enjoy that’s not your past routine. Possibly a recovery meeting if that peaks your interest. My biggest suggestion is to play that tape through and remember why your choosing recovery. You are worth it.

Thank you, and I can’t force anyone to stop but it’s so tempting bc my boyfriend is still drinking he’s drinking way less but still doing it. I wanted a drink so bad after work I almost started to cry lol. But your right I just have to occupy myself

I used to drink fireball so that sounds like it might be a good idea.

You definitely have the right mindset. Good going. I suggest just concentrate on you because you are worth sobriety. You’ll be amazed at the change in others that can happen by concentrating of making the best version of you that you can. Keep at it. If I can do it, anyone can.

Go get yourself some cinnamon hard candies.

Your craving is tied to prior programming. We are programmed to think/feel that we deserve to drink because "it's the weekend". I know personally I could make a good reason to get drunk out of anything. It's been a bad day, it's been a good day, the weather is bad, my job sucks, I got a promotion, it's Friday, it's Monday, it's Wednesday etc The reasons for not drinking far outweigh all the dumb reasons for drinking, now.
