Self induced sadness

Anybody else find they can't get out of their own pity party?

I often feel that way. But what I’ve learned is by forcing myself to change what I’m doing it change where I am into a place I am slightly uncomfortable being (and that place being a healthy one) that my brain resets and I get begin to move on out of that funk. I hope this helps in any way☀️

Helping out another alcoholic was my way. Going to a meeting where you’d find a new member and talk to them, helping out someone here struggling. It gets you out of yourself and out of your head.

Yup :+1:

Sit in it for a moment, feel it. Let it pass through you and out of you. Then completely let it go . Do a couple of minutes of meditative deep breaths. Remember you are an amazing person.

If they gave awards for self pity, I'd be in the Hall of Fame!

Poor me, right?

Self pity is just another form of selfishness. Tell yourself that every time you want others to feel sorry for you.

Now rub some dirt on your ego, be grateful for what you have, and keep on truckin'!

Hey Christopher, for me it's baby steps of positive actions that helps.

Into action!

Every single day

Yeah everyday that’s why we need help and aren’t alone the first step is to accept and move forward alway look forward to tmw a new day and maybe look in the mirror and say be the person that you wish you had and take it one day at a time I mean look at how far you have come you are here and that’s a big step and we can’t beat ourselves up over the nonsense and negative vibes we chin up and learn to love ourselves find that thing that will inspire you. I myself do this all the time and have to remind myself the same thing! Brush your shoulder off it’s a new day tmw! Smiles
