Self pity over Valentine's Day

I don't know what I will do to help myself feel better about Saturday. I hope to just get through it.

Saturday is just another day

Many holidays are tough for us. Maybe we all need to learn to love ourselves, first before we seek it in or from others. I know going back to using, drining or gambling will not help me. We are always one drink, one smoke, one bet away from spiraling back downwards. We know what happens when we go down that route. Pain. Simple.
So, maybe come on here and post, go to an online meeting, or an in person meeting if you are open that.
And I get its easier said than done. But we should know better eh

Go to a meeting, call your sponsor, write about it,write a gratitude list,read literature

Valentine’s Day can be tough for me too, in more ways than one. Days like this can stir up a lot. I’ve learned it helps to lean into grounding and self-soothing techniques.. letting myself feel what comes up without trying to escape it. Feeling isn’t failing. It’s healing. One day at a time. :purple_heart:
