Seroquel and Weight Gain

I have been in Seroquel for about a year now and i have gained like 40 pounds. I do eat whatever i want and i don’t want to go on a die. i also don’t want to stop taking Seroquel. It’s like my main med and it rlly helps. I do yoga almost everyday. I do my best to be healthy. I just feel down about my body {>~<} ughhhh
Can anyone relate ???
I hate these intrusive thoughts… my mind keeps telling me i’m so chunky and i hate seeing my squishy tummy
i have been super skinny my whole life, im not used to seeing my body like this. I am a healthy weight im just not used to having a food baby stomach ya know lol
I wrote down some nice affirmations on sticky notes and put it up on my bathroom mirror. So, when i look at myself in the mirror i can read those positive affirmations (๑´·.̫ · `๑)

I've been off an on Seroquel for years, I also have a history of eating disorders, so the weight gain was pretty tough on me. Personally I have always gained weight with Seroquel, just remember your value isn't found on the scale, and all bodies are beautiful...the squishy ones too!

I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and I was happy that way for a long time. And it really helped within the first few years of sobriety. But one day I looked in the mirror and was like you need to make some changes. Lost it all, and gained it back in muscle. I found what works for me, so it's important to find what works for you. If comfort food is helping you with addiction, then being pudgy is a small price to pay. But with 7 years sober, I'm to the point where I feel my addiction is well under control and I'm not as vulnerable as I used to be. So I decided to make these drastic changes, learned what works best for my eating habits and desires, and it has been life changing!

I've taken Seraquel and hydroxyzine for about a year now. Ive actually lost weight over that time, but I know what you mean by eating after taking Seraquel. I take 100mg and coupled with the Vistaril(hydroxyzine), it hits hard pretty fast. The trick is to give in and go to sleep. If you stay awake after that first notion to sleep then yes, you ,I ,or anyone will probably eat whatever is in front of them :man_shrugging:t2:. Also, I think hydroxyzine is to keep you down so you don't sleep eat in the middle of the night among other things. Maybe add hydroxyzine?
Caveat here is I do live alone and control the food in the environment I'm in as if I have OCPD, which , turns out I do. Living with others bringing in their sugary foods has resulted in weight gain so I'm not sure what to tell ya there. Actually ,I had an Ex put her snacks in a locked combination code box and that worked actually. Just an Idea...good luck Two .
