I set a boundary today! Proud, but a little anxious. My partner asked if I wanted to go to dinner after he had a few drinks with a friend. I said that sounded nice. Turns put he wanted me to be a sober driver. Sit there while they are drinking and talking, go out to dinner, then drive home. I told him that chugging gingerale and wishing it was wine while they drank sounded awful, but O would be happy to pick him up and drive him home. Have not gotten a reply yet...

Very reasonable and yet accommodating. Why should you have to sit and watch people drink?
