She makes it easy for me. A lot of people

She makes it easy for me. A lot of people say having a child is difficult and I just don’t agree. She has been my best friend since the day she was born and yes sometimes I get frustrated but I never knew true love until the day I met this one and that’s my absolute truth.

Aww…she’s so cute!!! Mine is 20 now :disappointed:! I understand what you mean my brother. You do what you gotta do for your recovery, and your little girl will benefit from having an awesome and present father in her life! Thanks for sharing :peace_symbol:

Amen bro. I remember my kids mom was always worried about being able to live her life ( she was 21 when she got pregnant) but anyway that thought never even occurred to me. Honestly , I can’t think of a single time I was like I can’t do what I want because I have a kid . Intact it’s just the opposite I’ve always felt like I get to do so much more fun stuff again because o have an excuse and I’m just getting started because she only three . Thanks for the share bro

The first thing I did when I was able, months before AA was talk to my ex and told her if I drank again to take away my 50% custody. I never drank again. For me that was all the accountability I needed to stop . But then the real work started. I didn’t care enough about myself, but I’d do anything for that boy.

My girls are 37 & 40. Unfortunately they wound up helping me. I will always remember growing up with them. Please don't ever let your daughter see you the way mine saw me. Best of luck to you

I understand you completely. My son is also my best friend. He has autism and I am his advocate and his mom. I'm in a resedential drug treatment program. My son is staying with his aunt thank God. I am maintaining my sobriety for me. However I'm also doing it for my son.

Well you are half right Charlie but family helps each other and my mom is in her 60s now and I help her. She has moved about 5 times in the last 6 years for work and because of Covid etc and my dad dies years ago. Anyway I was there for every move and as adult children we enjoy giving back To our parents. And I will Charlie appreciate the reply
