Side effects

I was wondering how long it would be till I got called out. My wife today told me that I have to stop saying yes to everything for her and the kids. I laughed. When she asked why I was laughing I said I came back from a diagnosis of an 8% survival. I’m now healthy and almost two years sober and and just found out about baby number 3 on the way. Life is too short and I won’t take no for an answer from me or anyone.

You are a miracle my friend! Congrats on your upcoming 3rd kid as well. Just be sure to continue to stay connected and work your daily program. I didn’t and it cost me dearly. I became husbandaholic and dadaholic, and I just stopped doing everything I was doing to stay sober. At first I was just so grateful to have a family and a life. I had no boundaries, no me time, no program of recovery. 10 years later I was tired. Tired of everything. I had so much stress and didn’t feel any appreciation. Resentments started building up. The rest of the story is not good my friend. Looking back now, I feel that if I continued my daily program of recovery, that I would’ve made it thru without exploding and destroying my life. That’s just my story. I wanted to share it with you because you are a great guy and have a beautiful family. I don’t want you to ever have to go thru the pain of hurting and disappointing them. Keep working it brother ODAAT :peace_symbol:❤‍🩹

Congrats on number three! Now you are outnumbered… I know those feels man. I have three myself. I did the same thing when I first got sober, I was a “yes man” for me it was the guilt of how I had treated my family for so long and trying to make up for it. My wife had to tell me I had my own life and I could enjoy myself/do activities I enjoyed without the family once in a while. I had my own voice. My sponsor told me to look at it like a scale… too much on one side and it tips, take everything off one side and it slams down. Even the scales out. It’s a journey not a race. Keep doing the next right thing and will all work out, just don’t lose yourself.
