Six days since my relapse. A 2nd degree DWI with a suspended license while on probation for a 2nd degree DWI. My PO has been on leave and will be until tomorrow. I can’t stop crying, and I’m so afraid of what happens next.
My resolve is strong, and my mind is in the right place. I understand now that my addiction is a mental illness and not some simple matter of willpower. That makes it easier to accept.
What’s harder to accept is what the legal system may throw at me. I… I’m not made for jail. I’m so terrified.
Thank you for your time.
It takes what it takes. In many ways the system took part in saving my life.. I didn’t always see it that way but like I said, “it takes what it takes.”

I agree with William here. Get a good attorney and prepare yourself for rehab. Nothing changes if nothing changes. There is a good chance that you will look back on this as one of the best things that ever happened to you. I have similar wreckage in my past and I do.

It’s great, right? Years go by. The problems work themselves out. Life gets easier. The promises come true.
Sobriety is a super power!
