Six months sober. Still can’t sleep

It’s 7am as I write this and I haven’t gone to sleep yet. Took sleep meds. Did my sleep hygiene routine. At some point if I’m still awake - around 5am, usually - I concede I won’t sleep that night and just wait for exhaustion to make me crash for a few hours. This has been happening more frequently the past few months. I’m now up to unwantingly pulling all-nighters 3-4 times a week.

A sheer inability to fall asleep at this point in sobriety isn’t making me spiral like it used to (alcohol is poison, but man, I consistently blacked out on that poison and that at least made me sleep no matter how fitfully) but not being able to consistently sleep even an hour a night is very frustrating.

I’ve posted here before asking for sleep recommendations and y’all were lovely and gave advice. This post isn’t advice-seeking. Just venting. And if you can’t sleep in sobriety either, it bites, but I’m right there with you.
