Sleep is good!

Sleep! Man that would be nice right now. Sure wish some sleep was happening. Anyone here know how to go about doing that? I think I missed that class.

While I want to say I transcend earthly inconveniences such as insomnia through a zen-like commitment to meditation, the non-bullsh*tting side of me grabs for Melatonin in a pinch. Used to be Colorado gummies but you can see where this creates a different set of issues.

I take a non narcotic pill. I don’t think I know how to fall asleep w/o a pill anymore.

I try my best to use up all my energy - going for a run, light weights, reading, puzzle, etc- stuff that'll all add up to put me right to sleep. A fan usually helps - adds white noise and I like to get super comfy with my pillows and covers, so the fan helps keep cool while I sleep.

:joy: sleep is very important! I had to cut out caffeine intake as that was also messing with my sleep patterns. Eating late night dinner is another thing I’ve cut out. If I’m not eating by 6pm I’m not going to bed until 10 or 11pm..
I’ve also stayed out fellowshipping one night really really late like 4am I’m in bed and got up @5:30am… what a difference I felt versus being hungover… I actually made it until 9:30 the next night… I did have a green tea matcha latte… :joy: I don’t recommend doing that often…
Anyway hope you can find some sleep tonight!

Melatonin helps. I use a fast dissolve 12mg tablet.

I listen to guided sleep meditation on Insight Timer, a free app you can download to your phone. My favorite is a guy named Kenneth Soares… His guided meditations put me to sleep every time

If you're anything like me you're in your head with racing thoughts at night. So I use Reflection & Preparation. (Big Book somewhat refers to this on pg. 86)

At bedtime simply write down 3 things that went well with the day and some that didn't. Then write out what you have planned for the next day.

This does a couple things for me ... I don't lay there thinking because I've already written it and essentially "closed the chapter." Also by clearly writing plans for tomorrow I have already decided what is important and don't wake up scrambled or have apprehension the night before.

Hope this helps!
