Sarah, the same thing happens to me. You are not alone. It is difficult for my boyfriend to understand this incredible low feeling. Please keep me posted on how you are doing it

Mine was kind of the opposite (guess I'm just weird! I'll take it). For the first bunch of months, I was motivated and all that. Once I hit like 6 or 7 I was just "meh". Maybe my brain just decided "you're good, chill my dude" (yes, my brain calls me 'my dude')

So good to see you try

I have been in a depression on and off, for 2 years with 12 years sober, abandonment issues, more of a coDA thing, I relate with those left behind, definitely only God can fix this thinking..

Drinking or any fourm of mind altering substance would only make things worse, its not worth the short relief when the painful lonely hollow feeling caves in on you, depression is a mean smiling female Dog

Be very active.do not isolate will only get worse.any meetings will help::dromedary_camel:

I feel like it’s easy to say stay busy!!! But when you’re feeling low and motivation is very difficult it is not as easy as the words. Going to meetings can feel like the biggest chore and weight. Yes of course it feels wonderful after but that motivation is really hard. Really hard.

Hey! I am actually getting into inpatient shortly and im going to go down that road. i really appreciate you. I need to get back to a good diet and all of that. I am absolutely lacking alot of nutrients and many other things i’m sure. I barely eat and lost a lot of weight. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead of me and i appreciate you! :blue_heart::kissing_heart:

When ppl can relate to this topic it’s so helpful. I can come talk to you and others when i feel SO low and ask for advice on what’s worked for you or i’ll
just tell you to make me go do something and be held accountable. That could work as well :joy: Ty for sharing and reaching out to me. I am hoping to get into 1 out of the 3 rehabs that might possibly be an option next week for me. I called MANY. I know that I need to get in this week, because I can already tell that I am making up excuses in my head about why I just shouldn’t do it anymore or just making excuses not to go. I know that I need to, I’ve written notes to remind myself and wrote down songs that I need to listen to when I have thoughts like that to remind me to stop being stupid and GO NOW.

Well that’s great!! I just hibernate. My brain calls me “bit**” Hey BIT** get off your a** and take a shower and do something with yourself!

I have those issues as well. I need alot of help with dealing with the emotional aspect of life. I don’t know how to do things without being toxic and loving the toxic. I need to be re-wired and know what to do in order yo cope

Yeah tell my brain that. that’s why i need inpatient. That’s what i do. That’s how i cope. “I DONT” I fix it temporarily until it come back and I do it again. I wasn’t taught how to deal with life properly. “I” taught myself. No one taught or guided me in life. This is why i have to go away. my life is very stressful and i have a boy who needs me. I have to sacrifice 30 days … I need to be taught how to deal with my sh** feelings.

It feels almost impossible. I can’t even get up to brush my teeth or eat. It’s very real and such a terrible feeling. Then… when you’ve slept several days and you can’t even sleep anymore it becomes even more frustrating because now you can’t even escape the feeling of being completely useless.

Hi Sarah, im real feeling it to day, I caught some sort of nasty summertime flu and don't want to spread it to meetings so im just sitting here with my writing pad, my mother passed away 3 days before my Dads memorial in May, I need to figure out zoom meetings

Your sobriety and you comes first right now! Force yourself to do one productive thing as little as it may be. Then reward yourself with something you loved back in the day.

Unfortunately my advice is good and bad, but what got me through very early sobriety is knowing that everything is temporary and the tough times will pass. They always do. Get a milkshake and binge watch a Netflix show. Self care!
